Climate Through a New Lens: Expanding the Changemaker’s Toolkit with Extended Reality
📆 Monday, September 22 from 11:10 AM - 12:00 PM
📍 SVA Theatre, 333 W 23 Street, New York, NY 10011
Don’t miss the groundbreaking session Climate Through a New Lens: Expanding the Changemaker’s Toolkit with XR at the Narrative Change Summit!
This event is sponsored by Agog: The Immersive Media Institute, a philanthropic organization that brings together social-change agents, thinkers, and builders, helping them create new ways to learn, inspire, and collaborate through the use of immersive technologies such as virtual and augmented reality.
This 50-minute session will explore extended reality (XR) as a tool to create moving stories that inspire the urgent action needed to face the climate crisis. By immersing audiences in visceral, awe-inspiring experiences, XR can help people feel the stakes of the climate crisis and experience potential solutions, shifting perspectives and inspiring action in ways traditional media, like abstract data and dire headlines, cannot.
Join Agog cofounder and climate journalist Chip Giller, along with visionary creators at the forefront of immersive storytelling, idris brewster (Kinfolk Tech), Nancy Baker Cahill (4th Wall AR app), Yasmin Elayat (Studio Elayat), for a conversation about how XR can expand the changemaker’s toolkit—connecting communities, catalyzing action, and sparking imagination for a more just and sustainable future.
